Gigs
Based in Glasgow, I've been playing live music at bars, weddings and functions for over 25 years. My eclectic repertoire includes a wide range of acoustic covers of folk, rock and pop spanning every era. I also write and record my own original material.
As well as a solo act, I play in duos regularly with Damien Swail (Damien & Michael) and Jerzy Kolodziej (Mock Turtlenecks).
I played in Waxy O'Connor's (West George St) every Thursday & Sunday night (and later just Thursdays) from 2002 until 2011, first as part of Mock Turtlenecks and then as a solo act, before moving to a fortnightly early Saturday evening slot for a further 9 years. I have also played regular slots over the years in Molly Malone's (Hope St), O'Neill's (Merchant Sq), Committee Room 9 (John St), Òran Mór (Byres Rd), Birdhouse (Thornwood), O'Neill's (Sauchiehall St), Buck's Bar (West Regent St), SoHo (Miller St), The Courtyard (West Nile St) and Queens Park Café (Victoria Rd).
In 2008, I co-wrote and recorded a couple of albums with Maggie Devlin, as Yo Como. We donated proceeds from Give A Sunrise downloads to Ripple Africa.
In 2001/2002, I played with Sarcassa, a six piece band fronted by Emma Joyce.
In 2000/2001, I hosted the weekly open mic session Unplugged in QMU, University of Glasgow with Jerzy Kolodziej.
In the late 90s I played with a band known by a multitude of names including Swallow This Fraser, Planet Caravan and Roach whose lineups included Pete Stanton, Steven James, Douglas Macfarlane, Duncan Macfarlane, Jerzy Kolodziej and Paul McDonald.
